Curtains - Baby and Toddler’s
Curtains, Baby or Toddler it doesn’t really matter how old your baby is, picking the right curtains for your baby can be quite important to your childs development.
Anyone would think that curtains are curtains and wouldn’t really affect your baby’s development, but it has been found to be quite the contrary. If we look a little deeper there are a number of factors that could affect your child’s development.
Firstly there’s thickness of the curtains for your baby. If you put up curtains that are not thick enough, this may allow too much light into the room during the morning and daylight hours. This can lead to your baby sleeping much less than usual. It can cause them to wake up earlier than usual and have interrupted sleep during daylight hours - all due to excessive light coming through the curtains to your baby.
Next up is the type of fabric you use. This can have an adverse affect on your child. If you baby is allergic or sensitive to certain types of material, this can cause your baby to react in a number of different ways. They could have rashes, sneezing fits or even respitory difficulties. Make sure that the curtains baby will have do not cause a reaction.
Colour can also affect your childs development, strong warm colours such as reds, yellows and oranges can cause tension and aggression in early development in babies. Pick a cool colour for your curtains and baby will be more relaxed.
As you can see picking curtains for you baby isn’t something to be done at the last minute there are a number of factors which have to be taken into consideration.

As an enthusiast for anything that will benefit my bubs, I totally agree about the importance of choosing the right curtains. You want colours and patterns that will stimulate your baby’s mind, curtains that dont gather dust or bacteria and that will be able to controll the light coming into the room.
